1. Who you're dealing with
This website and service are operated by Ment8 ("we", "us", "our"). You can reach us at hello@ment8.io.
2. Using the website
You may browse, read, and submit forms on the website for personal use. You agree not to:
- Submit false information.
- Attempt to break, scrape, overload, or compromise the site.
- Use the site to transmit unlawful, harmful, or infringing content.
3. Free trial sessions
Free trial sessions are exactly that — free, with no obligation to continue. We'll respond to a trial request within one working day to schedule a session. There's no minimum commitment, no card required, and no automatic conversion to a paid plan.
4. Plans & payment (when you become a customer)
If you sign up for a plan, the specific terms (price, frequency, mentor, cancellation policy) will be confirmed in writing before you pay. In general:
- Plans are billed monthly in advance.
- You can cancel your plan with 7 days' notice; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing month.
- Refunds are not given for sessions delivered, but unused sessions in a paid month can be carried into the next month if you've cancelled.
- If we cancel a session (e.g. mentor illness), it'll be rescheduled at no extra cost.
5. The service
Ment8 provides mentorship and tutoring services delivered by independent mentors. We work hard to match each student with the right mentor, but we make no guarantee about specific academic outcomes (e.g. exam grades). Education is a partnership; what students get out of it depends in part on what they put in.
6. Children & safeguarding
For students under 18, the parent or legal guardian is responsible for supervising the session environment (e.g. ensuring sessions take place in a public area of the home if the format is online).
All Ment8 mentors agree to a safeguarding code of conduct. We take any concern seriously — please contact us immediately at hello@ment8.io if you have any concerns.
7. Intellectual property
The Ment8 name, logo, website design, and content are our property. You may share links to pages, but please don't reproduce or rebrand our materials without permission.
Any work created by a student during sessions belongs to the student.
8. Liability
We provide the service in good faith and to the best of our ability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in respect of any claim is limited to the fees you've paid us in the previous 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under UK consumer protection law.
9. Privacy
We handle your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If you're a customer, we'll tell you about any material change by email at least 30 days before it takes effect.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
